Back from vacation, and back to the old schedule of a nighttime routine … got to the gym at about 9:15 and walked out at 11:15 with our HFH scoreboard heavier by 1,200 made shots.
Dad is a trooper. His back and a leg are hurting pretty badly, from the look of him, but with the exception of a few breaks during the session, he is insistent upon staying the course. His consistency, his general willingness to be THE GUY on the nights that no one else is available, is helping to keep this project steamrolling along, and I love him for it.
I was excited today to receive an invitation from Ian McCarthy, the general manager of the Manchester Millrats of the Premier Basketball League, who asked me to talk a bit about HFH and make 50 foul shots at halftime of the team’s Jan. 17 game against the Quebec Kebs at Southern New Hampshire University (7:05 p.m). It will be Military and Veterans Night, and Ian has said the team is willing to donate 50/50 proceeds to Hoops For Heroes. Very grateful, and very much looking forward to the night. I’m guessing we’ll be at around 95,000.
For now, we’re at 77,637 down, 922,363 to go to 1 million.
