I continue to be moved by the donations and words of encouragement being sent from around the country. A note and contribution from a Connecticut man whose Godson, a first lieutenant in the Army, was killed in Iraq in September 2008. A donation from Lake Charles, Louisiana, in honor of a Vietnam Medal of Honor winner. An e-mail from a woman in South Carolina whose husband is currently deployed, who says she plans to give each month until we reach a million.
Thank you to everyone who has taken an interest. It’s truly inspiring, and reminds me how privileged I am to be playing my role in this thing we’re all doing.
Tonight, it was Dad and Jack each taking their place under the hoop for 1,400 more, bringing the total to 84,307 down, which my math tells me means 915,693 to go to 1 million.
