February 11: Another 1,500 with Nana

11 Feb

Did I mention that she never stops for a break?  Not once, this Nana.

Back for her second consecutive night of rebounding, she’s now testing out a new trick, the no-bounce thing, catching as many as she can right out of the hoop without the ball touching the floor.  It definitely speeds things up, and also takes some pretty quick hands.  She did lose a fingernail once tonight, and please don’t insult her by asking if she stopped for that.

Good thing she was fast, because if I was only cozied up next to awful last night, I was sitting in its lap tonight.  Listen to this:  Blechthkckst! I’m pretty sure that’s not a word, but it is the best description of how I must have looked at the foul line.  At least that’s the way it seemed.  Even so, by some miracle of physics, and bolstered by the skills of that lady under the rim, we bullied our way to 1,500 in almost exactly two hours.  Still not quite sure how.  I guess if you take enough shots, a bunch are going to go in.

So here we are, having crossed the 13 percent mark, at 131,307 down, 868,693 to go to 1 million made foul shots.
