March 25: 1,500 with Christopher Nicolopoulos

26 Mar

The last time my pal and former co-worker Chris Nicolopoulos was over for some quality rebounding time, he was sick, I was borderline awful, and together we were pretty darned slow.

This time, he was feeling good, I was back up around 90 percent, and together we were significantly quicker: 1,500 in about an hour and 50 minutes, bringing us over the 19 percent mark (!), at 191,007 down, 808,993 to go to 1 million made foul shots.

After further review, that’s now eight sessions — covering well over 10,000 made shots — in which my buddy from Hampton has participated:  November 23, November 30, December 7, December 15, January 7, January 14, March 11 and now March 25.

He’s rebounded for better and for worse, in sickness and in health. He’s crashed on the couch.  He’s offered free legal advice.  He’s fixed our toilet.  Last night, he even bought The Beautiful Heth’s potato chips on the way back from the gym.

If thank-yous came in shirt sizes, I’d offer Chris an XXL … in silk.

And today, lunch is on me.
