April 8: Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, and 1,000

09 Apr

Haven’t the last couple days been about 75?  Tonight was about 40, and windy.  Jeeeeeeeeeesh.  Even so, it was one of those good nights of shooting … just 1,000, but it was a relatively efficient 1,000, especially the second half.  Finished up in a little over an our and 20 minutes, which is just about right.

Just noticed, by the way, that with a bunch of 1,000 nights recently, the daily average is plummeting.  As of now, with 209,107 made in 149 days, the math works out to 1,403 per day.  That’s still a good chunk more than the 1,370 we need to make daily to get there in exactly two years, but it’s down from what was once around 1,440.

This weekend should be a big boost, though.  Will be at another “Hoops For Heroes,” this one Hoosier-style, on Saturday … an all-day benefit basketball tournament in New Albany, Indiana.  Thanks to Lt. Andrew Sands for the invitation, and very much looking forward to the day.

We’re at 209,107 down, 790,893 to go to 1 million made foul shots.

For more on Hoops For Heroes, with a goal of 1 million made foul shots and $1 million raised for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, visit or contact Dave Cummings at 603-554-7855.
