April 17: Kam the Man and 1.5 grand

17 Apr

So that’s Kamren Anderson, who actually is cool, and me, just pretending to be cool.

The two of us ended up in the Epsom Central School gym this afternoon because Kam apparently has ESP.  It’s been getting colder and wetter by the day recently, so this morning I found myself feeling as though this would be a good day for my streak of six consecutive outdoor days to come to an end.  And just about exactly as that thought was going through my mind, the phone was ringing.  Kam was wondering if I needed a rebounder.  I did.

So what happened in our two hours of shooting was 1,500 made foul shots … ahhh, warm and dry.  Just what the doctor ordered.  But it was what happened in the 20 seconds before I started shooting that I’d like to point out below.  Just watch Kam, the sixth-grade lacrosse/soccer player, take his turn as a hoopster and fire one up from deep …

Yup, it was a great afternoon, and all together we’re now at 226,507 down, 773,493 to go to 1 million made foul shots.

Thanks, Kam.  See you again soon.
