April 18-19: Night into day

19 Apr

The shooting piece of this whole Hoops For Heroes thing seems to have evolved, from predominantly in the gym to predominantly outside.  The indoors is better, naturally, in terms of the controlled environment and higher shooting percentage, and also for the element of human companionship.  The outdoors is nice because, heck, it’s just nice to be outside … but more importantly it just fits into the schedule better.  Cuts out the travel time, and with 5:30 a.m. or 9 p.m. having become the best times to shoot, family-wise, it’s tough to line up rebounders at those hours.  We’ll get back to the impositions next winter, when the outdoors becomes undoable again.

For a variety of reasons, one being that it was pretty late before we got back from Carly and Reagan’s second birthday party, we were a little light last night — 500 — before getting back into it with 1,400 this morning.  Both were at a pretty good pace.

Happy birthday, Carly.  Happy birthday, Reagan.  Nobody, and I mean nobody, is cuter than you two.

That’s 228,407 down, 771,593 to go to 1 million made foul shots.
