October 31: One strange bird

31 Oct

The day-to-day routine doesn’t change much these days, shooting 1,000 a day outdoors, repeat, in order to land on 500,000 11 days from now — Veterans Day, Nov. 11.  So when something like this happens, it’s worth noting.  I might not have even spotted it, but when I came in from shooting this morning, The Beautiful Heth said she thought she’d seen something on the fence directly behind the hoop.  So we checked the video, and sure enough … it lands on the second board up, just to the right of the hoop, almost immediately after we start.

One strange bird, right?

With 1,000 this morning (and yesterday morning, and the morning before that, and so on), we’ve now crossed the 49 percent mark — 490,007 down, 509,993 to go to 1 million made foul shots.
