January 15: Bean counting

15 Jan

Team Bean is now up to 16,017 assisted foul shots for the cause, following today’s speedy 2,000 at the Epsom Central School gym. They went two at a time today, with Jim the mainstay and Seth and Chandler switching out every 500. Mason was there for a few in the beginning as well, but his interest level tends to slip after a hundred or so. And frankly, he’s short — roughly half a Jim — so I would assume it tends to get boring watching his 6-foot-5 buddy grabbing nine out of every 10.

Today’s was, in particular, a family affair. While Jim, Seth and Chandler rebounded, Kara Bean played surrogate parent to Rosie, as The Beautiful Heth was having her hair cut, getting even beautifuler.

We’re closing in on 600,000 now … with 598,007 in the books, and 401,993 to go to 1 million made foul shots.

Thanks, Beans, as always. Let’s do it again tomorrow.
