Sweet shirt, Pat.
Here’s how I know I’ve got good pals in the Epsom Central School administration: Even with the Red Sox in New York and the Bruins hosting the Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals, principal Pat Connors and assistant principal Brian Beaverstock once again hung around for our traditional post-school-board-meeting shooting session.
It was also about 85 and rainforest humid in the gym, by the way, but although they’d have much preferred to have been in front of a tube somewhere, those two maniacs were undaunted.
By 8:55 p.m., it was a good night: We had 1,500 made foul shots in the books, for a total of 816,007 down, 183,993 to go.
By 10:35, it was a great night: The Red Sox were 11-6 winners.
And by 10:50, it was perfect: The Bruins had evened the series with a 4-zip beatdown of Vancouver.
We’ll sleep well tonight … a little tired, a lot satisfied.
Thanks again, men, for the commitment.
