April 9: 1,500 … and a Heavy Seven

A very busy day, getting ready to head out to Indiana and visit Hoops For Heroes New Albany.  Stuff to pick up, a little bit of work work to do, packing, and can’t forget the shooting.  Right, the shooting.

Friday’s weather report: that misty perfection that’s no fun to golf or sunbathe in but tends to lead to fast outdoor free throwing, and that’s exactly what happened.  Of the 1,500 made, the first 500 were pretty quick, and the third 500 were even quicker than that, but it was the middle 500 that really moved things along.  It was just one of those nice streaks: 15 misses altogether, for a little better than 97 percent.  Now if only we could do that all the time, we could really move this thing along, couldn’t we?

An hour and 40 minutes was the total commitment, which left plenty of time to get to Mr. Rob Azevedo’s in time for him to bring me to the airport (Thanks again, pal.).  It was a big weekend for Robbie, too, with the premier of a film for which he wrote the screenplay, Heavy Seven, happening on Sunday.  I was sorry to have to miss the event, but I’ve seen the flick and … our boy can write, that’s for sure.

So good luck with all of it to Mr. Azevedo … and Hoosiers, here we come.

That’s 210,607 down, 789,393 to go to 1 million made foul shots.
